I always have good intentions but......... well as you can see, I have not followed through with this. I have not been blogging. Well, I'm going to really, really try to do this. Lets see how it goes...........
I've been keeping myself busy by signing up for various "swaps". I've only signed up for 3 of them, and although they all sounded pretty easy, I've really got my hands full.
The first one was just a stamped images swap. All I had to do was to take a stamp set, stamp all of the stamps on a 6x6 piece of paper, then repeat 23 times for a total of 24 pieces. Sounds simple, right? Well, let me tell you it wasn't easy at all. I found smudges, stray marks, and other problems with the first 20 sets. So I cut more paper and stamped some more. I managed to get about 16 more good sets but I discovered that I was stamping off of the edge of the paper on some. So I cut more paper and I stamped ever so carefully once again. Then I looked at all my "finished" ones. I saw some flaws I missed so I cut some more paper and stamped again. I finally had about 30 that I think may pass a rigid inspection so I packed them up and wrote a letter to the swap hostess, included the postage, and mailed them off. We'll see if they pass inspection. I'm hoping so.
The second swap is a "Stamped Images" swap. All I have to do is to make 10 different decorative pieces for pages or cards -- then repeat that 10 times. So I can stamp something and color it in. Or I can stamp something, cut it out, and mat it. Again sounds simple and I have a lot of stamped images left over from the other swap. So I cut out all the usuable stamped images. I start off using my waterbrush and painting in the image. That took me a while to get the hang of. I had 8 that I had to throw out - too much water caused blurred lines. So I cut out another 8 and I finally have one set of 10 imagines. Whew!! Now I only need 9 other images. I would bore you with all the details but lets just say that I work best with colored pencils. I'm still coloring the items I have stamped. I am also keeping it simple by just stamping and matting the images. Maybe I should stick to that.
The final swap I'm in is a card swap using my Cuttlebug. I only have to make 12 cards. Yep just 12. Not 12 sets of cards. Just 12 cards. I'll let you know how that turns out for me.
